Just One of THOSE Days

Do you ever look in the mirror after knowing you have lost a chunk of weight and see something that looks like this?

But when you go and have your picture taken you realize what you really look like is this?!

This was my experience over the weekend...unfortunate too because I had been given a LOT of compliments by very kind friends and family who hadn't seen me in person for a while.

I know, the positioning of my body in the photo could have a lot do with the outcome but it was still a blow to my ego!

Another blow is that in just 3 days from now, I will be testing out my VERY FIRST GOAL of fitting into a goofy little kid ride for my son's birthday party. I still have my doubts because I live by doubting apparently, BUT I still going through with it! How could I not when my kid is looking forward to it so much?! Wish me luck and I will let you know how it goes!

  1. Have you tried low carb dieting? I tried dieting the low fat/low calorie way last year and had no success at all. My 9yr old was eating 3x more than me, I was miserable, sick and so tired all of the time. I even picked up walking a mile a day and managed about 10lbs in all. My Doctor about yelled at me even though I insisted that I was not overeating or had a problem with food. It was so frustrating.

I made the cliche' New Years resolution to lose 100lbs this year and knew that I was going to do this for months before. I had luck on Atkin's over 10 years ago but never reached my goal weight because I ended up pregnant. I decided that I was going to do it again, but so much had changed on that diet and I had to read all the new stuff about it.

It's so much different and I feel so much different and much healthier. The weight is coming off practically effortlessly. Although it's slowed down to 3lbs a week or so.. I'm not complaining. I didn't even get that on low fat/low calories.

I'm eating like a piggy too. I don't miss much as there are ways to make pancakes and there are low carb whole wheat sandwich tortilla wraps out there. I like these to make pizzas out of. I sometimes miss croutons on my salads but found that a pinch of french fried onions is just as good and I like them more. I found how to make rice out of cauliflower and even faux mac & cheese or faux mashed potatoes out of that.

I'm not much of a fruit person, but berries are allowed and I love strawberries and blueberries the best. After I reach half way to goal I can start having some melons - but I'm not big on them either.

Wishing you luck and I know exactly what you're going through. I want to do so much more with my daughter and now, I'm finally getting to see the hope that I can. Keep going!
